Universal Learning Solutions has previously worked with the Ministry for Education in Cameroon and Jolly Learning Ltd to deliver two previous stages of the Jolly Phonics project in the country. The first pilot stage was delivered in 2014 and 2015, with smaller scale pilots of the Jolly Phonics method in partnership with the University of Bamenda, whose most recent 2018 evaluation highlighted that: “In all of the sections of the assessment Jolly Phonics taught children out-performed the control children dramatically.”
A small rollout to 100 schools took place in 2018 in Cameroon, and there are plans to scale to many more schools in the near future.
