Djibouti Ministry of Education and Vocational Training
The project in Djibouti started in 2018 and within a year the Ministry of Education, in association with CRIPEN, a government-run organisation that publishes resources and takes up teacher training, adopted Jolly Phonics in all their government schools.
Teacher-trainings were conducted for both teachers and teacher trainers. CRIPEN changed their curriculum for the government schools and used the core aspects of Jolly Phonics along with listening and speaking skills in sync with their culture. Jolly Phonics will be introduced in Djiboutian schools in Grade 3.
