2015Implementing Partner
Shainaz Jussa, Phonic KidsNagaland is the first state in India to have Jolly Phonics in all their government schools. The pilots started in 2015 and in 2019. It was then formally adopted in all government schools in the state. The books were sponsored by Jolly Learning Ltd, while the Ministry of State Education took care of the training venues and accommodation of the trainers. This project has trained 1518 teachers across the remote tribal regions of Nagaland.
We hope the training and books will transform the literacy teaching across the government schools of the state and continue to set an example to other parts of India.
